Kerry artist captures ‘The Boss’ on canvas

LEGENDARY rocker Bruce Springsteen is bringing a piece of West Kerry back to the States with him after his Irish tour in the form of a portrait painted by renowned Dingle based artist Liam O'Neill.

LEGENDARY rocker Bruce Springsteen is bringing a piece of West Kerry back to the States with him after his Irish tour in the form of a portrait painted by renowned Dingle based artist Liam O’Neill.

Irish artist Liam O’Neill, known for his vibrant and iconic Irish-themed paintings, created a portrait of Bruce Springsteen, inspired by the American flag colors and Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” album. A longtime fan, O’Neill took on the commission from the Mount Juliet Hotel, where Springsteen stayed during his Irish tour, crafting the piece over three months.

Liam O'Neill
Liam O’Neill is among Ireland’s foremost contemporary artists. His paintings and sculptures depict the west coast, it’s harbours, musicians, horse fairs, fishermen and famous figures he meets every day in his native West Kerry, Ireland. Liam wrote his book Riastáil in his native Irish, drawing on memories of his childhood in Corca Dhuibhne, West Kerry, during the 1950s and 60s.
